Compaq Presario CQ40 GnackTrack R6 No wireless drivers.
The distro that I have installed is based on Ubuntu 10.10 but when I select System _> Administration there is no driver application that will allow me to find proprietary drivers for my wireless card.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your quick reply.
Sorry that I have taken so long to get back but I have been a little busy.
I followed your suggestion only to be told that the latest version is already installed. I have tried un-installing and re-installing but to no avail.
Any further help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry but the command
Code:dmesg | grep firmware
I think this distro just hates me

Latest version installed, but it's not loading...
Try this... it should add the firmware to your startup process:
Code:echo "b43" | sudo tee -a "/etc/modules"
