wireless internet on linux lite

Hello,

I am using a acer aspire one netbook and for some reason i can't get it to work wirelessly.
I can see my router,insert my passkey but no connection.
I can connect wired no problem but it's very slow that's ok.
but the wireless connection that is a puzzle.
I am relatively new to linux but something simple like wireless connecting should work.
Any help would be appreciated.Thanks

Hello,

Just an update to anyone that is interested.
When i took away the encryption from my wireless network
i can now get in as far as google.But to get onto a site the error i get is "Server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete"

Any one any idea's?
