Sluggish web browsing response on Toshiba netbook (Ubuntu 11.04)

Wireless performance on my netbook was fine for awhile running Ubuntu 11.04. Lately, possibly after a recent security update, it's been losing the connection or else the browser (Firefox) just hangs. I tried re-installing 11.04, but it hasn't made a difference.

My laptop pc, a Dell running Windows XP, has no such problem (I use Firefox there also); same goes for other devices (iTouch, iPad). I use a Cisco Valet router for all devices.

The netbook is a Toshiba netbook 505. I'm a linux noob, but from the performance I had at one point I think the wireless hardware is fine; perhaps there's another driver I should be using?

I've included output from Mr. Waterheads 'bash' file

CPUs (1 & 2) average about 30% while the browser attempts to load a web page (e.g. Memory never goes above 24% usage.

The slowness affects any wifi connection

The thing is, I initially encountered no slow down whatsoever; the netbook wifi worked just as well as my windows pc. Ah well, time to revert to Windows, I suppose. Thanks for your reply
