Ubuntu 11.10 doesn't connect to wireless!
Hey Guys,
I've just installed Ubuntu 11.10 on my dell laptop. But the problem is that whenever I type the code "sudo iwconfig" then some lines pop up saying "lo no wireless extensions (next line) eth1 no wireless extensions (next line) lo the interface doesn't support scanning.". My network adapters are Broadcam 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller and Dell Wireless1390 WLAN Mini-Card. Any suggestion is appreciated.
The wireless connection performs properly when it comes to windows 7.
Thanks ahead,
Shahin

Broadcom devices often need proprietary firmware. I'm not an ubuntu user and don't check this forum but posts these outputs and someone will be able to help you out
Code:dmesg | grep -i firmware lspci | grep -i network lsusb | grep -i network
