When building software from source code, sometimes you need ./configure, and sometimes you don't.
So your instincts played well for you in trying the next step.

Very true. That one never popped up in your output, but keep that in mind should you ever need to re-do what you have going here.I read that some people also find it useful to blacklist the usb driver "rt2800usb" as well.Jay
