    Hi guys,
I forgot to say: when I try to connect I have this message: you need a password or encryption key to access the wireless network "NUMERICABLE-D5D8"
but I check more than 30 and the key is correct cause my other computer connects with the key I had wrote. I don't know... perhaps the computer don't recognize that the key is correct (I know it's stupid thinking this way) but my other computer, that has ubuntu, and is newer, everything was like "turn it on and have fun". But I won't give up!!!!

Can you connect with an open network?
Would you be able to disable your network security?

    Hi Jay,
What do you mean with open network? I can connect with cable without problems.
To my wifi, I can't turn the security off cause my neighbours still the signal and we had problems with someone that used others Internet's signals to do illegal's downloads.
But i'll try to connect to free wifi's if I could find one and test it.
    Thanks
    Mauricio

I'm so stupid and have no patience. Suddenly I had the great (stupid) idea to reinstall Fedora 16. So I did and now I don't have wifi. ARGGGGGGGGg!
What an idiot. Now I don't know what to do. I screwed everything. Do I have to re-reinstall? Do I have to make any downloads? I really wnat to... I don't Know. I'm really sorry
    Really
Don't get angry on me, please

Now, I donīt know why, I have wlan0 back. I think Iīll re-install fedora 16, post once more what I have after a brend new install and Iīll follow exactly what you guys say. Is that OK for you? Or should I google a little more?
Please, I really donīt want to take ! month to get everything in order and I donīt want to install Ubuntu as Ubuntuīs politics are, nowadays, kind of weird.
Thank you for your patience and excuse me for screwing everything up.
    Mauricio

But now Iīm working so Iīll go home tomorrow morning to follow your instructions

    Well,
At the end I installed Fedora 16 on my principal computer after back everything up. The wifi (ar9285 worked but the next day it didn't work) I think Fdora 16 don't support Atheros' wifi. When I saw I had wifi working on my principal computer I re-installed with the same configurations to see if wifi worked and... guess what... it didn't. I'll close this thread and open another with my main computer configuration then, when I get everything working i'll try once more with the second computer.
    Thanks

So, after you got the system re-installed...did you update the system? If yes, then the problem might be a newer kernel update that caused it to stop working.
