    Hello and Welcome!

I took a look on the Intel Wireless site, and I believe I found the correct driver for your card.
    http://intellinuxwireless.org/iwlwif...-9.221.4.1.tgz

Check out this post for steps on installing source code.

    hi im back...

n still stuck with my problem
after i extract to my home folder:
    Code:
    tar xvf iwlwifi-6000-ucode-9.221.4.1.tgz
    i found 3 file:
    1. iwlwifi-6000-4.ucode
    2. LICENSE.iwlwifi-6000-ucode
    3. README.iwlwifi-6000-ucode

n after i read installation on README, that:
Installation of the firmware is simply:

    % cp iwlwifi-6000-4.ucode /lib/firmware

You can now load the driver (see the INSTALL and README.iwlwifi provided with
the iwlwifi package for information on building and using that driver.)
but after i tried, the file iwlwifi-6000-4.ucode is already there, n can not copy replace.
now, how to load the driver?

    Try this:
    Code:
    sudo cp iwlwifi-6000-4.ucode /lib/firmware
    And then reboot.
If that doesn't work, there are still ways to make it work.

    Open terminal and type in

    Code:
    cd /lib/firmware
    hit enter

    then type in

    Code:
    ls
    (lower case L for ls)

Hit enter. Post output in next post so jay can see if you installed

    Code:
    sudo cp iwlwifi-6000-4.ucode /lib/firmware
correctly. Your screenshot of terminal only lists what you downloaded and extracted. Though I can't be sure what I was looking at on my little eeepc 701 screen. Hard to tell.

That wireless chip on this desktop ( Mine is a Emachine found in dumpster that I use a wireless USB on), But from my above readouts> if ihad it. My kernel and distro supports it out of the box. That is why I am wondering what distro this may be.

    Hi Rokytnji,

I used Blackbuntu 03, its same model like ubuntu 10.10 (its said...)
& dont upgrade the kernel, because makes not stable anymore. just upgrade the tools.
sorry forget to explain in first posting...

i used my laptop as triple boot (7, fedora 16/f16, blackbuntu/bb). My 7 & F16 wifi is works fine. But not with BB.
    oh, n here's my result:
