Both wireless AP and client mode

I would like my linux to act as AP and client simultaneously with one usb wireless adapter.

I've learned that it is possible to use my wireless usb adapter as software ap(in other word: Hotspot).

But it is also possible to make my linux machine act as both wifi client and wifi ap?

Wifi client will connect to another wifi network.

I'm not totally sure about this, but i think that is not possible with one normal adapter. Maybe if you have some 2 radio adapter designed for that.

    just an educated guess.

I don't think there is any software available that will do what it seems you want to do. There are too many issues.
Soooooo much easier to splash out $30 for another USB wifi dongle.
While you're doing that, you could also buy a purpose-built access point or home wifi router. They're not that expensive.
