    Wifi On Backtrack5 (Help).


    Hi friends i'm new to linux OS
    I'm running Backtrack5 on Live CD
    I have Wifi-- Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 2230 (Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller)

    Chipset-- Intel Mobile HM76
    When i type airmon-ng my interface is not detected?
    Can any one help me out with this problem?
    Do i need any drivers?

    You *can* install BackTrack, but it's proably not a good idea. If you read the docs they tell you that BT is not a normal distro and that if you start to add stuff to it or take stuff away from it that you can break big (and important) parts of it rather quickly. It was meant to be run from a live CD. If you want to play with some custom config then run it in a virtual machine and save snaphots often. That way if you break something it will be easy to restore the last known good state. And you won't have to go through all of the headaches of trying to get a distro that was never desinged to run on hardware to run on hadware, possibly breaking it in the process.
