    Hello and Welcome!

    If I recall, Fedora uses Network Manager to handle network connections. You can disable your wireless there.
    Also, depending on the laptop, there may be an on/off switch tat you could toggle.

    You can also use the ifconfig program.

    Code:
    sudo ifconfig wlan0 down
