    Hi,

I assume that nothing has changed in your Ubuntu and with the previous router router worked fine.
How is your router connected to your laptop: wireless, Ethernet cable or usb?

    Right,
I see that the usb wireless dongle looks to work fine. If you say that exactly the same setup worked with the old router.
    1) Check that the interface is up in the ubuntu box. Post # ifconfig usb* <-- (or whatever name the wireless interface has)

2.1) If it is up, check the network settings with # cat /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-usb* Is dhcp enabled? If so, is the dhcp server ON in the router?
Also please post the result of #netstat -nr
2.2) If the interface is not up, something has changed in the wireless dongle. Can you provide the model?

3.1) If the interface is up and there is an IP in it, but still not connecting, try pinging the router gateway and an local LAN and public internet address (4.2.2.2)
3.2) If the interface is up and there is no IP
    - Test the wireless configuration in the router: Channels, SID broadcast and specially the WEP/WPA2 settings (you can try disabling wireless security and see if it connects)..

    Hope it helps
