    Wi-fi link times out

I'm having a lot of trouble w/this new wi-fi card of mine. Whether I have my router running encryption or not, it always fails the same way: it just times out and claims it cannot connect. I've tried things like resetting the router, changing channels, and using a static IP. Nothing makes any noticeable difference. I've run several other wi-fi devices through this router and never had a problem.
    I'm running Ubuntu 14.04 AMD64.
I'm starting to wonder if I should just take the damn thing back and get another card.

If I could, I would. But maybe you will get lucky just the same. Link.

If you were trying to tell me something other than the link, sorry, but i didn't get it. I visited the link and I found a few things about firewall problems and intermittent connection problems, but not my unbending failure problem.

No. The link was to help you find where to fish. I can't catch and feed this fish

for you since your hardware problem is unique to you.
