Which wireless card to buy?
Someone in my family wants to buy a wireless network card for me for christmas, but basically all of them say that they require windows in the system requirements. From what I have read, you can still get most of them to work, right? My question is, how do you tell (easily, my family is not computer savy) if a wireless card will work with linux? (I have suse linux) Can you get any card to work, or are there some that will not work. Are there some that work better on linux than others? If so, how do I tell? Thanks in advance.

Atheros (chipset vendor) supported Linux Operating System.
Choose Wireless cards based on Atheros chipset, or other well supported chipset with native Linux driver.

I will second that call for atheros card. I have a netgear and it works fine. Take a look at http://madwifi.org/wiki/Compatibility

Certain Prism and Intel cards are well supported. Have a look through this excellent write-up by HP, particularly at the chipsets whose driver status is listed as "Stable." Then follow the links below that to find some good cards.

Those seem to mainly get sold in England. Do you know of anybody in the states who carries them?
