Wifi help, Ubuntu
I recently installed ubuntu linux on my laptop. It uses a ipw3954 wireless card also known as the intel PRO/Wireless 3954ABG. The card is recognized and appears as eth1 in ifconfig and iwconfig. I cannot connect to my home wireless network. I cannot access the internet on this computer without use of wireless so it looks like I'm going to have to set it up the hard way and get the fancy tools like network manager later. The problem with this is that even though I set the channel, essid, wep key in the card I still cannot associate with the router and get an IP address via dhclient. I've been working on this for 3 hours and am out of ideas. I'm open to any suggestions. Thanks for the help.

could you post what these commands return:
Also, try using static ip's instead of using dhcp.Code:ifconfig iwconfig route
Life is complex, it has a real part and an imaginary part.
