Question I can't see my ESSID

Hi,

I have P3 450mhz with 192mb ram desktop computer. I bought an Aztech Wireless card one year ago. In few days, I have installed Ubuntu 6.06 Drapper to it. I read a lot of pages documents to describe wireless Internet Connection to Ubuntu but I haven't been successful. These are the steps:

1. I am sure that I installed wireless card successfully. Also I installed wireless card driver using Windows driver which has been told at Wiki.
2. The parameter of showing ESSID of my modem is open.
3. I switched off filtering MAC address of the modem.
4. I saw some wireless connection without an ESSID name when I type iwlist wlan0 (i am sure it is wlan0) scan.

My wireless modem is Airties Rt-210.

Is there any suggestions?

Thank you...

PS: There is no problem on my Internet Connection. I have a laptop with Windows XP and I use Internet Connection without any error. If I solve this Internet Connection problem, I want to install Ubuntu to my laptop.

"iwlist wlan0 scan" should give something like this:

wlan0 Scan completed :
Cell 01 - Address: 00:17:9A:12:35:84
ESSID:"TRINITRO"
Protocol:IEEE 802.11g
Mode:Managed
Frequency:2.412 GHz (Channel 1)
Encryption key:on

Cell 02 - Address: 00:90:0E:01:4F:5C
ESSID:"iGRIN-Town-Basin-09-4303540"
Protocol:IEEE 802.11g
Mode:Managed
Frequency:2.412 GHz (Channel 1)
Extra:bcn_int=200
Extra:atim=0

edited & leaving plenty out (I receive 10 signals here)

have no idea about this: shouldn't be necessary

don't know what this means either

so you a) installed kernel source
b) ran "menuconfig"
c) installed ndiswrapper.ko and ndiswrapper
d) used "iwconfig...dhclient..."

did you read the sticky in our "wireless internet"
forum?
