i purchased an airlink101 802.11g (awlh3026T) 54Mb pci card because the guy in the store told me it most likely had an atheros chipset...but the driver on the cd is a rt2561 driver....which is ralink..right? when i use airmon it says it doesn't support monitor mode but when i type iwconfig ra0 mode monitor then iwconfig it says mode: monitor....i'm confused...so i was wondering if the card must be able to support monitor mode in order to use aircrack/airodump to capture ivs...and if it doesn't can you still capture ivs...and also does having monitor mode make the data capturing faster...?
