macbook wireless ubuntu 6.10

I've read through a few how to's on getting my wireless up and running on my mac book core 2 duo with ubunto 6.10, but i haven't been able to get it right. i don't know what i'm doing wrong. I've downloaded ndiswrapper 1.38 and it appeared to compile and install right, then i used the command "ndiswrapper -i filename.inf" where filename was the xp driver for my card. (at least that's what one of the how to's said) and i'm stuck. I'm completely new to linux and i was wondering if anyone here could tell me what i might be doing wrong and could point me in the right direction. any help would be much appreciated.
