how to remove an interface?

OK I got a pcmcia card and now I put it in and two cards show up in my network manager even though I have the internal disabled in the BIOS and ifdown'ed.

How can I stop ubuntu from even seeing this device?

Shouldn't be seen

If you've already disabled the interface at the BIOS level, then Ubuntu shouldn't be able to see the interface at all. I'd start by double checking the BIOS settings.

yeah its disabled. if i reboot and check the BIOS it's disabled. if I boot into windows i can't use it. but if i stick in the PCMIA card i can use, configure, and connect with the 'disabled' card. it's particularly annoying because they both show up the same in networkmanager since they have the same chipset. i loaded SLES and it has the same problem. i guess i'll just micromanage my interfaces using the CLI since the two cards are registered differently there at least. maybe i'll try wifi-radar or something.
