I have experience of making the Broadcom one work from Fedora - I've done it on FC5 and 6 and Fedora 7 too. I don't know how I'd do it from Ubuntu tho', but I'd google it to find out.
I was scratching around the internet this morning for updated windows drivers to lift the broadcom firmware from, and there seemed to be plenty of help for Ubuntu users to get the bcm43xx driver working.
