Trouble with GT704WG

Hello,

I just moved into a new apartment, and I'm trying to use my roommate's wireless DSL router. It's an ActionTec GT704WG. It works fine for my laptop (running windows ME) but not for my desktop (running Fedora Core 5). I tried this:

# ./ifdown wlan0 && ./ifup wlan0
Determining IP information for wlan0... failed; no link present. Check cable?

I can see the network when I run `iwlist wlan0 scanning`, but if I run `iwconfig wlan0 essid B0N95`, the change doesn't take. When I run just `iwconfig`, I still see "off/any" as the essid. Of course there is no error message.

We are running WEP, but the key is the same as for the laptop. I've tried setting various other parameters like sens, rts, and rate, but none of it seems to help. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Paul
