Cannot activate Atheros 5006BG on fedora 8

Hi,

I installed fedora live 8 on my new FUJITSU SIEMENS laptop. I see that the atheros wireless mini-pci driver is supported and recognized. I'm trying to activate the wlan0 interface and get error messages. (action not supported)
I'm a new user to the linux system so I have trouble to find my way to solve this issue.
any help will be appreciated ...

Your wireless most likely uses the madwifi driver. More info can be found at these sites:

The driver module that it uses is call ath_pci. You can run this command to see if it is loaded.

It should create an ath0 network connection. You can check for it with this command.

Your system may have relabeled it wlan0.

You also look for error messages about the wireless from the boot process with this command.
