That has happened to me and I usually find that I forget to run:
after compiling ndiswrapper...Code:/sbin/depmod -a
Just saying so in case you might have forgotten that step like I have... :)
unfortunately I used depmod -a. I find fedora really strange. Using the same hardware I got wireless running in slackware, suse and ubuntu and I cannot fix it in Fedora.
I feel your pain! The same is the case with me. Feodra/CentOS just seems to give me all sorts of grief when trying to configure wireless, yet, the same wireless hardware is a breeze with Slackware, Crux and especially Ubuntu. This has been the case with me with more than a few devices.
This is from a Gentoo doc I had found online.
Not a fix, and not very appealing, but it might work.Quote:
If you recive "FATAL:Module ndiswrapper not found" Try the following.
depmod -a
modprobe ndiswrapper
If that still fails, reboot and try modprobe ndiswrapper again.
Help needed to encryption
In the past, I have had to use wpa_supplicant to connect to my wireless access point. I am using WPA-PSK TKIP for encryption.
I currently connect with KNetworkManager. Although I have wpa_supplicant installed and set up, I'm not sure that I actually need it anymore.
Guys, let's not highjack valemon's thread. Please start a new one. :)
Sorry, I didn't realize that it was a different poster.
The mod has my permission to delete them, if he wants.
I cannot find a way to get this working. Fedora does not like me I suppose. Thanks everyone for helping.
