fedora and wireless/card configuration
I have a linksys wrt54gl like a router eth/wi-fi and I have a notebook with an integrated wi-fi card
I have to configure wireless network but I have a little problem and I'm here to ask anyone if can resolve this problem
after a little pursuit on internet I have found that the right way seemed ndiswrapper,so I had compiled it and I have installed .INF file, driver from windows in my system ,so this is the result:
bcmwl5 : driver installed
device (14E4:4320) present (alternate driver: ssb)
em500ag : driver installed
I didn't understand why I have installed also em500ag becouse bcmwl5 would be the driver for my wi-fi card
[root@Tx]# /sbin/lspci | grep Wireless
00:09.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4306 802.11b/g Wireless LAN Controller (rev 03)
Then I have installed Linuxant driver that I have uninstalled immediately becouse they asked me a license, but really driver seemed correctly loaded but now that I had uninstalled linuxant I can't load my wi-fi driver anymore
lo no wireless extensions.
eth0 no wireless extensions.
wmaster0 no wireless extensions.
wlan0 IEEE 802.11g ESSID:""
Mode:Managed Channel:0 Access Point: Not-Associated
Retry min limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr=2346 B
Link Quality:0 Signal level:0 Noise level:0
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0
I have to load ndiswrapper by hand whenever I should need it becouse at boot of my system ndiswrapper is not loaded automatically
then I have installed wirlan assistant or wirlassistant how you prefer and it found my access point, but now anymore and I don't now if is a problem by linuxant ( how I believe)
How can I resolve this problem?
thanks very mutch
