New to Linux, installed latest fedora having issues with Belkin wireless nic.
Okay hopefully someone can point me in the right direction here. I have a very limited linux skill set so the more detail the better!!!
I have a homebuilt machine that I have just installed the latest fedora core onto. I downloaded the DVD iso and installed it on a dedicated 250GB SATA drive. I went along with the default options during the install and with the exception of the wireless card everything seems to be working ok.
The issue I am having is getting my Belkin wireless card to work. I have a Belkin F5D7000 installed on the system. I have read through numerous posts using ndiswrapper but I have yet to find any post detailed enough to explain to me what I need to do step by step or if I even need to use ndiswrapper.
Can anyone help me out, I would be forever grateful.
got madwifi installed but still not working
so I was able to install a network card used a cross over cable to my laptop running windows to get a live internet connection and downloaded madwifi with the following command.
yum install madwifi madwifi-kmdl-2.6.18-1.2868.fc6
that went through downloaded evertything and installed it I am assuming. I did not receive any errors in this process. I still do not see a wireless card in the network hardware or devices. According to the madwifi help what I did should not have required anymore work on my part.
Any ideas on how to get this to work?
