Hello,
Just installed SuSe 11.2 however cannot get wireless networking going and at the moment it's not even detecting any networks. Using a lenovo ideapad S10e with Broadcom drivers. Can connect using ethernet cable. Got it running on SuSe 10 but with more luck than judgement. Any ideas please. Thanks:confused:.

Thanks reed9 for info, However think i have found and downloaded latest driver from broadcom as i was directed there from SuSe Linux forum website. All i have to do now is find out how to extract and load the driver files and where?:rolleyes:.
The reason I ask for the info is that there are two possible drivers, and the chipset of the wireless card determines which you need.
These broadcom cards use the driver you downloaded from Broadcom.
If your card is not on that list, you need the b43 driver. This driver you actually have already, but it needs extra firmware to work.Code:14e4:432b "Broadcom Corporation BCM4322 802.11a/b/g/n Wireless LAN Controller"

Both the broadcom driver and firmware are available through the packman repository. No need to build from source.

Very grateful for your quik respons reed9 and for the info. been up since 5:30 this morning trying all possible solutions and did not get to bed 'till past midnight but i think we have all been there before.

Done as suggested and downloaded packman repository however is there still somthing i need to do as still no conculsion to the problem.

If you were not able to make wireless work up to now, may I suggest you post the outputs from the site originally suggested by reed9.
It can really help them analyze the problem better.

when i enter the first command lspci -knn > lspci.txt in the gnome console i get a message " absolute path to lspc1 is ' /sbin/lspc1, so running it may require superuser priviliges ( eg. root ) . Forgive my ignorance but whate does this mean. I am new to this OS so please excuse me. I thought i had privileges as the administrator of the sysytem!. 8-)

There is a variable, called PATH, which tells the system where to look for programs. This variable can be different for different users, in this case opensuse has a different PATH for root than for the regular user account. Typing only lspci means the shell doesn't know where to find the binary, so you have to use the absolute path, /sbin/lspci.Code:/sbin/lspci

To change to the root user, and change to the root user's environmental variables, do
