Trying getting a Encore N150 [ENLWI-N3] to work, lost cause?

Hi and thanks in advance for any help!

I have an Encore N150 ENLWI-N3 I'm trying to get working with my Linux Mint 11 OS. I'm a beginner in the land of wireless cards so any help is very appreciated.

My last card was a Sabrent with the Ralink chipset. I had to buy local for my current card, and the closest possible Linux friendly card I could find is a Encore N150 which also uses a Ralink chipset. Is it possible to make this work?

Tell us everything you can about your setup, do you use a router, does your access point use WEP or WPA encryption? What's the name of your access point?

"sudo ifconfig wlan2 up" returned no output. It just went back to prompt.

"sudo iwlist wlan2 scan" returned:

I use a Zyxel PK5000Z modem dsl router. WPA-WPA2 personal encryption.
Is the name of my access point the same as the SSID? If so it's XXXX.

I followed the instructions on identifying the right drivers for the device. The ID pair for the card is 1814:3060. With this I found:

If I understand correctly, this is a positive indication of drivers out there which support this device. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to make use of this information. It's a bit beyond my current skills, but I'm willing (and want) to learn. :)

That card does use the rt2800pci driver, which is already installed.
Do you by any chance have MAC filtering enabled on your router?
