xandros and Asus eee

The eee uses xandros. Could someone load ubuntu and would it work..?? Why not,if not. That is if you had an xtra 4g of storage.
The core of linux is the same right??

Actually Xandros is Debian based like Ubuntu. To my knowledge you can add sources to your sources.list and install or enable a full KDE desktop. I believe Ubuntu does work on it but it really depends on what it is you want to do. Enabling the desktop might be enough.
