Hi and Welcome !

I have never used Xandros and I dont know if this will work or not.

Download SuperGRUB CD .iso image, burn image to CD and boot from it. Select 'Re-install Lilo' from Menu. Lilo is default Boot Loader of Xandros. If you have installed GRUB then select 'Re-install GRUB' option.

in case it doesn't work, you can remove Xandros Boot Loader to recover Windows. Select 'Fix Windows' option from SuperGRUB's Menu. Windows might throw errors if your new MB is not of same Model. you have to boot up Windows in safe mode and re-install MB driver.

I used to have Xandros and I find it very complicated to use specially if you are bound to use Windows all your life...

its very hard to switch-over but my short experience with Linux changed my idea on win Su xp and the only short coming of Linux was in gaming.
but in the end you have 2 live in community of Windows OS dominance.
