Yoper sound prblems and more

I have the Asus K8N-VM which has Adi AD1986A onboard sound, can`t seem to be able to install the linux drivers that are on my mobo cd from Asus... Can anyone give me a how to help on that? Maybe I`m doing something wrong... And another thing , can`t install any apps all give me dependecies errors... And the apt-get doesn`t work at all , even with the changed links in /etc ... I`m new to these forums but didn`t know who else to turn to...

What errors are you getting when you try to run apt-get? What do you mean by "even with the changed links in /etc"?
